1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Council ("we," "our," or "us") at usecouncil.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Council is an AI orchestration platform that allows users to query multiple AI models (including but not limited to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, and Perplexity) simultaneously and compare their responses side-by-side.

We provide access to third-party AI models via the OpenRouter API. We do not control or own these AI models, and their availability and performance may vary.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Council to:

  • Generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • Harass, threaten, or defame others
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying algorithms
  • Use automated scripts to access the service without permission

5. Payment and Subscriptions

Council offers both free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

6. Intellectual Property

The Council platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Council AI Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws.

Content generated by AI models in response to your queries may be subject to the terms of the respective AI providers. You retain ownership of the prompts you submit.

7. Third-Party AI Services

Council provides access to AI models operated by third parties (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, etc.). These services have their own terms and privacy policies that may apply to your use:

  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or safety of third-party AI outputs
  • AI responses may contain errors, biases, or inappropriate content
  • You should verify important information independently

8. Disclaimers

COUNCIL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

AI-generated content should not be considered professional advice. Do not rely on AI outputs for medical, legal, financial, or other critical decisions without consulting qualified professionals.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COUNCIL AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Council at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may also delete your account at any time.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
